The Crawford family's backyard in The Woodlands Creekside Village was missing something essential. The existing patio lacked adequate shade, and the outdoor space lacked amenities that the family wanted. What they had was underutilized.

3D Design & Visualization
Before construction began, the Crawford Project was fully designed using Envy Exteriors' advanced 3D design process. This visualization allowed the family to see exactly how the pergola would frame their backyard, how the fireplace would anchor the space, and how the kitchen and seating areas would work together as one unified outdoor living environment.
The 3D renderings were instrumental in refining the layout and ensuring the fireplace, kitchen, and seating wall would be proportionally balanced and visually cohesive. The family could visualize the pergola's scale, the lighting design, and how the cedar privacy slat walls would create intimate zones while maintaining openness.

Centered beneath the pergola is a custom modern 60-inch Lanai gas fireplace, serving as the primary gathering focal point.

Fireplace Columns & Lighting
- Two full-size columns on each side of the fireplace finished with natural stone veneer for elegant symmetry.
- Paver material caps on each column to match the existing patio.

Outdoor Kitchen
An L-shape stucco outdoor kitchen was built adjacent to the fireplace, creating a complete entertaining and a cooking zone.

Patio Refresh
The existing sun deck patio areas were completely recolored to coordinate with the new construction and provide the backyard with a unified, refreshed appearance.

Stepping Areas
- Two separate stepping stone areas created to allow easy transitions between the pool deck and yard.
- Black star gravel with barefoot-friendly steppers for comfortable movement.
- Accessible and inviting circulation paths.
Equipment & Utility Areas
- Black star gravel installed from the pool deck to the front right side gate.
- Black star gravel throughout pool equipment and utilities areas to keep the space clean and accessible.
- 8 large stepping stones positioned near the pool deck to create a dedicated hard surface area for a smoker.
- Stepping stone area meets easement requirements while providing acceptable hard surface placement.
Landscaping
The landscaping around the pool and up against the house was completely remodeled with modern aesthetics and tasteful design.
