Pool & spa remodel

The existing free-form pool was fully reimagined with a cleaner, modern aesthetic. We removed the old moss rock waterfall and replaced it with a raised wall and column feature clad in split-face natural stone. Six stainless steel scuppers introduce a sleek, contemporary water feature, while the spa was cut open and finished with a 90-degree spillway accented by 1×1 Blue Blend glass tile. The pool was resurfaced with PebbleSheen in Aqua Blue, transforming the water color and overall feel of the pool. All necessary pool equipment was upgraded to support the new design and modernized infrastructure, providing the client in the woodlands with an exceptional experience.

travertine patio remodel

The outdated pea gravel patio—hot underfoot and deteriorating—was replaced with a modern silver travertine paver surface. The patio footprint was expanded to accommodate new outdoor living areas and to visually tie the pool, fireplace, and patio cover together. Matching travertine coping was installed around the pool and raised walls, creating a seamless transition between water and hardscape.

Detached Gable Patio Cover

One of the crown jewels of the Pickett Project is the custom, detached gable-style patio cover. Built with rafters spaced at 16″ on center (typical of high-end custom homes) the structure features solid wood posts and beams for both strength and visual impact. The vaulted tongue-and-groove ceiling is stained to match the surrounding wood elements, while shingle color and the soffit paint color were carefully selected to match the home. Recessed lighting, satin-black fixtures, and a high-flow fan provide comfort, ambiance, and mosquito deterrence, while sconce lighting on the posts integrates seamlessly with the property’s lighting system.

outdoor wood burning fireplace

The custom wood-burning fireplace was framed to accommodate burning a variety of wood types, per the homeowner’s request. Finished with large-format Texas Blend natural stone veneer, the fireplace serves as a bold focal point beneath the patio cover. A stained wood mantle—matched to the surrounding structure with a mounted TV above for entertainment options. The structure's footprint allows for the required living space for furniture to entertain and relax.

Custom layered landscaping

Layered landscaping was installed behind the pool, along the home, garage, and rear fence to create privacy from neighboring lots and visual depth. Plant selections were arranged to provide structure, softness, and year-round interest, giving the backyard a lush, finished look that enhances both the pool and outdoor living areas.

outdoor & landscape Lighting

At night, the Pickett Project comes to life. Landscape lighting highlights trees and planting beds, while path lights guide movement throughout the space. Pool lighting and structure lighting were carefully balanced to complement, not overpower. the surroundings, creating a warm, inviting ambiance throughout the entire backyard.

sprinkler system

The existing irrigation system was modified to support the new landscaping layout. Adjustments were made to ensure proper coverage and efficient watering, helping the plant material establish and thrive while protecting the long-term investment in the landscape.

PVC Drainage system to the street

Running discreetly underground, commercial-grade PVC drainage lines capture water from the home’s rear roof, garage roof, patio drains, and pool overflow. All water is directed safely to the street, minimizing the risk of standing water and protecting the integrity of the new project's integrity during heavy rain events.

3D Design Plan

Before construction began, this project was carefully planned using a detailed 3D design. These visuals allowed the homeowners to see the scale, materials, and layout of the pool features, patio cover, fireplace, and landscaping, ensuring confidence in every design decision before breaking ground.

Construction & Execution

Every phase of the Pickett Project was executed by our in-house construction teams. From demolition and structural framing to stone installation, finishes, and final detailing, each element was built with precision and craftsmanship. Electrical runs were concealed within custom wood trim, transitions were thoughtfully detailed, and materials were installed to create a cohesive, polished result.

Materials & Finishes

This project features a curated blend of premium materials selected for durability and visual harmony. Silver travertine was used throughout the patio, pool coping, and column coping for continuity, while Shell Beige split-face stone adds contrast to the raised pool walls and seating areas. Large-format Texas Blend stone anchors the patio cover columns and fireplace, tying the entire outdoor living space together with a timeless, natural aesthetic.
